serious illnesses.According to some sources, hot yarrow tea helps with migraines.Yarrow also cleans oily skin, so it is a common ingredient in cosmetic products. It is most often dried for the preparation of teas and harvested after flowering, from June to October. It can also be used fresh. It can be harvested for food already in early spring, from the end of February until June, sometimes again in the fall, while for medicinal purposes the upper parts of the flowering shoots are dried and harvested during the summer.Although yarrow is then the richest in medicinal ingredients, it is no longer suitable as an addition to dishes.Namely, only young and completely tender yarrow leaves are tasty, and they become too bitter as they age.Bitterness can be reduced if the leaves are scalded with hot water and drained. The young leaves have an aromatic smell from the essential oil, so in Germany they are added to soups, salads, stews, fresh cheese and butter or mixed with sorrel and plantain.Yarrow can also be used as a spice instead of parsley leaves. From the young leaves, with the addition of lemon juice or citric acid, you can prepare a delicious sauce, similar to that of dill.In addition to its medicinal properties, it would be good to include fresh yarrow in your diet due to the abundance of vitamin C and carotene. The great advantage of this plant is that it is easy to find.We find it in large quantities along roads and paths, in dry pastures, meadows and fields. This plant is very easy to recognize, because it is very characteristic for its small white flowers gathered in larger inflorescences that rise on long, hard and sturdy stems.Although they are not used for medicinal purposes, they were once highly prized as they were used in the i-Ching, an ancient
